Set in a beautiful natural amphitheatre, with perfectly prepared tree lined slopes, the skiing here forms the premier part of the vast 3 Valleys Area, the largest in the World. Courchevel is ideal for all types of skier, whether taking those first tentative steps, or exploring the off piste and steep couloirs. Courchevel has it all, with the added convenience of a superb lift system with barely any queues. For snowboarders too there are dedicated snow ride areas and a snowpark with halfpipes.

Courchevel - 4 resorts in one - For more information on Courchevel: See www.courchevel.com 1850 The highest and largest resort with a wealth of bars, restaurants, night clubs, shops and activities. Chic and sophisticated, 1850 is the winter home of the jet set and prices reflect this. 1650 At one end of the 3 valleys system is a lively purpose built resort with excellent après ski and nightlife and is far more reasonably priced, with a good selection of bars, restaurants and night club. 1550 Is directly below 1850, and originally a satellite village for it, however it has now developed a separate identity as an informal and reasonably priced resort. 1300 (Le Praz) was the original village of Courchevel and still retains the rustic atmosphere and Savoyard charm. Also famous for it's Olympic ski jumps and the "Bistro du Praz". All the resorts are linked by a FREE bus service which runs until midnight.

From the pretty village of Le Praz one bubble lift takes you up to 1850 in time to meet for ski school, or a second lift takes you higher and grants access to the slopes by-passing the centre of 1850. From the top of this bubble you can take a chair lift and then descend into Meribel. From late December through to April, it is normally possible to ski back to Le Praz on one of two red or two black pistes all of which are tree lined and are some of the prettiest runs in the 3 valleys. Alternatively, your return can be made by bubble lift or by a free bus service, should you wish to stay late for an après ski drink in the sophisticated bars of 1850.

Situated directly below the 1850 station, this village is an ideal base from which to ski Courchevel and the 3 valleys, and return home on green, blue, or red tree lined pistes. The main bubble lift takes you directly to the ski school meeting points in minutes and remains open until 7:30 to grant access to the luge run and floodlit skiing on the Tovets piste. Moderately priced and informal restaurants are a feature together with a mix of British and Savoyard Bars.
