Our Terms & Conditions

1 Booking and Deposit

Your contract is with "Ellis Jackson Holidays" and all Bookings must be made on the form provided signed and accompanied by a deposit of £70 per person or £250 per self catering property. If the booking is made within 8 weeks of the departure date then the booking shall be accompanied by the full holiday cost. The person making the booking shall personably be liable thereon and shall be deemed to do so on their own account and not as agents for any other person other than those named on the booking form. No contract shall exist between Ellis Jackson Holidays and the customer until the holiday costs or the correct deposit is received by us, and a booking confirmation and invoice issued. The customer shall mean the person in whose name the booking is made and persons named on the booking form. When initial deposits are made it shall be deemed that the customer has read and agree to these booking conditions.

2 Payment

The balance of the money due from the customer is required to be paid before 8 weeks prior to departure. If Ellis Jackson Holidays does not receive the balance as indicated, they reserve the right to cancel the booking without any further reference to the customer, and any deposit received shall be deemed forfeit.

3 Surcharges

The price of your holiday is subject to surcharges on government action and currency where adverse changes to the exchange rate occur. (Calculations based on £1 = 1.40Euros) Even in this case we will absorb an amount equivalent to 2% of the holiday price which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges. Only amounts in excess of this 2% will be surcharged. We guarantee that surcharges will not exceed 10% of the total holiday cost.

4 Brochure Information

All information as to accommodation, prices, service and local amenities is carefully checked to ensure that it is accurate and given in good faith. However clients should be aware that the information given is liable to change between the time we print the brochure and the time of the holiday. If the information given is inadvertently incorrect, this shall not be accepted as a cause for a compensation claim.

5 Cancellation of Holidays

Ellis Jackson Holidays reserve the right in any circumstance to cancel your holiday. However in no case will we cancel your holiday less than 8 weeks before the scheduled departure date except for reasons of non payment or force majeure which includes; war, political unrest, weather, strikes, acts of God, epidemics, riots, civil strife, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural and technical disasters, and closure of ports.





6 Alteration of Holidays

We reserve the right to make changes to your holiday at any time. However these changes are rare and normally minor. In the unlikely event that we have to make a major change to your holiday we will notify you as soon as possible and offer you the choice of accepting the alteration or canceling.

Further we will pay compensation on major changes other than for “force majeure” as follows;

7 Cancellation of a Holiday by a Customer

You may cancel your holiday at any time providing that the cancellation is made in writing by the person who made the booking. Since this involves costs we will retain your deposit and in addition apply cancellation charges as follows;

Note that under no circumstances are deposits or insurance premiums refundable. If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of an insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges.

Should the customer wish to make alterations to the booking, we will do our best to help. Due to the additional admin required, we levy an amendment charge of £20 or £5 per item changed, whichever is greater. Should the customer wish to change the date of the holiday then cancellation charges will apply.

8 Insurance

Winter sports are hazardous activities and it is hence a condition of booking that all clients are covered by an insurance policy at least as comprehensive as that arranged by us.

Where clients require the services of our resort staff to provide assistance in the event of an accident, and the client does not have insurance arranged by ourselves, then we reserve the right to charge for that service.

9 Limitation of Liability

Ellis Jackson Holidays cannot accept liability for any loss, injury or death caused to a client whilst undertaking winter sports activities. We will not in any circumstances accept liability for disruption of travel or damage to holiday expectations caused by force majeure or other causes beyond our control.

In cases where we arrange ski equipment rental or other activities for clients, the contract is between the supplier of that service and is not part of the contract with Ellis Jackson Holidays. No liability will be accepted by us for any loss or injury caused whilst these services are being provided.

If customers purchase travel tickets from Ellis Jackson Holidays, the “Conditions of Carriage” of the relevant carrier apply. A copy of these conditions can be supplied upon request.

10 Clients responsibility to the property

The person making the booking shall indemnify Ellis Jackson Holidays against all actions, loss, damages and costs whatsoever, in consequence of any claim by any person arising out of any act or default on the part of the client or any member of his party from the date of departure to the time of return to this country of the said person.

Rental of SELF CATERING accommodation requires a cash security deposit of 150 EUROS payable in resort in Euros or equivalent in Sterling. The deposit is returnable less any charges for breakages or damage occurring during the client’s stay howsoever caused. The deposit does not in any way limit the customers liability for damages caused to the property or furnishings by any member of the customer’s party.

The accommodation that we arrange for you must only be used by those persons named on the booking form or holiday invoice.

11 Complaints & Dissatisfaction

In the unlikely event that the accommodation or service is not up to the standard as outlined in our literature, a complaint should be made immediately and during the course of the holiday to our resort manager. No complaints will be accepted which are related to snow conditions, weather, travel delays, free ski friend services, ski lift closures, or the size and decor of accommodation. A complaint which has not been notified in writing to our manager during the holiday will not be subsequently accepted.

12 Holiday Behavior

Should any customer‘s behavior in resort be disruptive or abusive to other holiday makers, we reserve the right to discontinue dealing with them as a customer. Should we do this, we will not be liable for any extra cost incurred as a result.

13 Free Ski Friend Service

The provision of a “free ski friend” (if provided) is subject to availability. It should be noted that no part of your holiday cost is paid to the “ski friend” who is acting as a volunteer only, and not as an instructor or guide. No complaint will be accepted whatsoever for the quality of this free service, or for the removal of this service due to illness, injury, or legal action.

14 Equipment Rentals

Please note that all of our properties are locally owned and are linked to particular ski hire outlets. Failure of our clients to utilise the owner's preference of ski hire outlets endangers our future business with that owner. Hence a condition of booking is that any equipment required, is to be rented through the chosen outlet of the property owner ONLY, which will be disclosed on arrival. Non compliance with this condition will result in a retention of £10 per person from the security deposit.
